Blackburn with Darwen Heritage Trails
In 2006, Blackburn with Darwen Library and Information Service was awarded a grant by the Local Heritage Initiative to enable us to compile heritage trails for each town. Members of the Local History and Civic Societies have researched and written the history of some of the area's most interesting buildings and taken photographs for the leaflets. In 2007, the trails were published, with 2 trails for each town.Printed leaflets are available at a variety of outlets, including all the Blackburn with Darwen libraries. A children's version featuring a quiz is also available. For those of you are unable to sample the trails in person, try our virtual trails.
