Blackburn Rovers Players from 1880's to 1990's

Introduction
As a lifelong supporter of Blackburn Rovers for over 70 years, and, a current season ticket holder, I felt that there was a need for a concise archive of players who have represented the club from its inception in the late 1880’s to the end of the 1990’s. These pen pictures provide an image of each player and brief details of where they were born, facts on their time at the club, the clubs they played for before and after their playing career at the Rovers.
I hope that this resource provides supporters with an enjoyable and useful record they can delve into at their leisure.

Jack Tipping
The cartoon images represented in some of the images in the 1940’s were drawn by Jack Tipping.
Jack joined what was then The Northern Daily Telegraph as a cartoonist and photographer in 1950. While at the Northern Daily Telegraph after photographing the cup final of 1960 between Blackburn Rovers and Wolves, he began to concentrate on his cartoons rather than photos. His cartoons became well known, not just in this country, in 1967, 1968 and 1969 he had cartoons published at an international exhibition of cartoonists in Canada.
Jack died on the 8th June 1997 at his home.
